Public Relations and Strategic Communications

Established in 2007, GRiP Communications LLC is a New York City-based public relations/strategic communications firm representing both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Before launching GRiP, Managing Director/Founder Greg Pitkoff spent 10 years at several New York-based public relations agencies, and an earlier decade as a business journalist. His journalism experience gave him great insight into the media mindset and has allowed him to engage and maintain valuable relationships with media contacts who know they can rely on him to provide meaty, meaningful content that will benefit their audiences.

GRiP Communications has two practice areas: its media/public relations division helps clients secure more meaningful, consistent and abundant exposure in the media and through real and virtual/online events;the strategic communications division provides on-demand consultation and fractional chief communications officer services to organizations needing assistance developing brand positioning, informative and consumable messages and the appropriate vehicles, channels and protocols to promulgate them to any and all internal or external audiences.

Non-profit clients, many of whom find themselves a "best-kept secret" among their geographic or constituent communities (or both), rely on GRiP Communications to secure more abundant and influential exposure on the local, regional, and national stage. By shining a light on all the good that they do, who benefits and how, GRiP Communications helps these organizations build a stronger platform on which to mount efforts to attract more donors, collaborators, clients, and new opportunities to serve their communities. Among those clients the agency has been honored and privileged to serve are multiple organizations serving individuals who are physically or mentally disabled, battling hunger, struggling to secure employment and support their families, as well as organizations advocating for sustainable living, promoting cultural pride, and spurring community improvement through the arts, producing performing arts events, and more. In giving back to the segment, Greg has served on multiple boards, including that of the NY Memory Center, a Brooklyn-based organization supporting those with dementia and their caregivers.
